A stabilizing partner for founders

Kebullient brings calm, senior execution when systems are brittle, tradeoffs are unclear, and each technical decision carries business weight.

Hi, I'm Ky.

Ky Kartchner

I am a husband, father, software engineer, and the founder of Kebullient.

Over the last several years, I have worked in both government and startup environments. Two very different worlds that have given me a useful contrast. Government taught me structure, risk awareness, and long-term reliability. Startups taught me speed, ownership, and close collaboration with founders.

I value both, but I do my best work in faster-moving environments where I can make a direct impact. I care about meaningful work, clear momentum, and solving real-world problems without unnecessary complexity.

Why I started Kebullient

I started Kebullient because I genuinely enjoy helping startups, and I wanted to do it in a model that is steady and sustainable for both sides.

My goal is simple: give founders access to senior-level technical support that fits early-stage budgets, especially when a full-time senior hire is not realistic.

The name Kebullient is a mix of my name, Ky, and the word "ebullient," which Dictionary.com defines as "overflowing with fervor, enthusiasm, or excitement; high-spirited." That felt like the right fit for how I work and the kind of business I want to build.

How I learned this approach

During college, I studied computer science while working in warehouse inventory management. I saw how much time was lost to manual, repetitive work, so I built tools to automate tasks, improve accuracy, and reduce stress for the team. That experience still shapes how I work today: find real friction and solve it in practical ways.

A recent example

In my most recent startup role, I helped a founder bring a niche CRM for the painting industry to life. I contributed to the MVP and built key integrations, including Google Places, MX Merchant, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, and QuickBooks.

I ramped quickly in an unfamiliar codebase, shipped meaningful features under tight timelines, and stayed focused on quality that moved the business forward.

Credibility at a glance

I have 5+ years of experience building and improving software and API integrations across startup and government environments. I have led modernization efforts, connected technical and non-technical teams, and helped organizations move faster without sacrificing quality.

Recent examples include delivering 127 production-ready features and fixes in under six months on a multi-tenant SaaS platform, reducing frontend build time by 66%, and building critical integrations with tools like QuickBooks, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, and payment platforms.

I am known for asking strong questions early, finding root causes quickly, and turning messy systems into maintainable, business-ready solutions.
